After two Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft within five months experienced catastrophic failures, I listened as aviation professionals discussed the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) which anticipates stall conditions.

Normally, pilots and co-pilots announce control hand-offs verbally to insure that positive control is maintained. The Auto-Pilot system confirms and alerts Pilots but the new system appears to surprise Pilots. It made me think about the systems involved and the cockpit and engine control software that govern steady flight characteristics.
